The Philippine Statistics Authority held the 14th National Convention on Statistics on October 01-03, 2019 at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, Quezon City. The event has served as a venue to discuss statistical developments and prevailing issues and problems and to foster collaboration among statisticians and professionals in the government, academe, and the private sector.
The convention organized 63 sessions, among which is the session on Information Society Statistics chaired by Dir. Maria Teresa Magno-Garcia of DICT’s National ICT Planning, Policy and Standards Bureau. The presentations of the session included the Tech4ED Project, Civil Registration, and the National ICT Ecosystem Framework (NICTEF).
The NICTEF is an authoritative reference source, as well as a living document which will be updated periodically with the latest plans, programs and projects, including recent indicators, accomplishments, outcomes and results. Engr. Dominador C. Garabiles, OIC of the DICT – Plans and Policy Development Division, discussed the NICTEF highlighting the current data and figures on the ICT ecosystem elements and the NICTEF Strategic Thrusts.
