Engr. Sevilla presented Digital Youth and Electronic Governance emphasizing the efforts of the DICT to involve the “millennials” to highlight the positive contribution of the youth in nation-building as in the case of the development of the National ICT Ecosystem Framework (NICTEF).
“The NICTEF has been co-authored by several representatives from the youth sector, representing various stakeholders ranging from government, academe, industry and other organizations… With an ever evolving field such as ICT and the Internet, with the majority of users coming from the younger generation, their collective voice is representative of the aspirations for social connectedness and opening up digital opportunities,” Engr. Sevilla said.
NICTEF has also been presented in the session on Online Literacy and Lingual Imperative wherein Engr. Sevilla has cited that the Framework serves as an authoritative roadmap guiding ICT development wherein the country may consider seeking resolution to the multilingual approach to ICT and the Internet.
