The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) successfully conducted the National ICT Ecosystem Framework (NICTEF) Technology Innovation Session with the theme, “Unlocking the Digital Economy Mindset: Innovation for Digital Transformation,” on June 10, 2019 at QCX, Quezon City Circle.
The event served as a part of the kick-off celebration of the National Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Month celebration which is being done in June of every year by virtue of Proclamation No. 1521, s. 2008. This 2019, the DICT led the celebration with the theme, See ICT, Differently.
Innovation is the introduction of any significant, positive change. This can be changes in public policy, small improvements to a company’s processes, totally new, disruptive product offerings, and more. These innovations can be either small, incremental changes that improve an existing concept to huge, transformation that shift the foundation of an organization. On the other hand, digital transformation is not just moving all processes into a digital format, but fundamentally shifting thinking to accommodate the digital environment into all products and processes. The National ICT Ecosystem Framework shall serve as the roadmap and reference source of the country as it strives for digital transformation.
Presentations included topics on Bayanivation, Internet of Things Security, Fourth Industrial Revolution, and UAV for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.
